Why we're building Flocus

A good 1:1 tutor is one of the most effective ways to learn something — someone who knows exactly where you're stuck, asks the right next question, and won't let you move on until you've actually got it. It's also, for almost everyone, completely out of reach. Private tutoring is priced by the hour and scheduled around a real person's calendar, which puts it far out of budget for most students preparing for a course, an entrance exam, or an interview.

The obvious alternative — a general AI chatbot — solves the price problem but not the learning problem. It's fast at producing an answer, which makes it very easy to copy an answer without ever building the understanding a real tutor would have insisted on.

Flocus is our attempt to get both right: a tutor that's built around your actual syllabus — a specific course, a specific exam track like GATE or CAT, an upcoming interview, or a topic you bring yourself — and that behaves like a good human tutor would. It doesn't just answer. After it explains something, it asks you to teach it back in your own words before moving on, because that's the actual test of whether you understood it or just read it.

We're building this in the open, before the app is on any store. This site exists to tell that story honestly — what Flocus is trying to do, what's real today versus what's still coming, and a way to be first to know when it's ready.
